How do people
receive services from your Society?
The Ministry of Children and Family Development - Community Living
Services, refers all of the individuals receiving services through the
Chilliwack Society for Community Living. If individuals requiring services
contact our Society first, we will provide the necessary support to
connect them with the local Ministry of Children and Family Development
office.
Why does the
Society fund raise?
The Society fund raises to offset cost overruns in specific programs,
enhance identified services as well as to assist in the upkeep of Society
owned property and for the purchase of goods i.e. furniture, equipment,
vehicles, etc. that are not always funded by government.
What are the
ages of those who receive service from CSCL?
CSCL supports both children and adults.
What kinds of disabilities
do people supported by CSCL have?
CSCL offers service to children with special needs and adults with
developmental disabilities who have been assessed and deemed eligible
for MCFD funded supports.
Have all the clients we
support been previously institutionalized?
No, in fact, most were not. Only one of our group homes was developed
in regards to the closure of a major institution.
What should I do if I am
supporting a client in the hospital and the hospital requests a signature?
You must not sign any documents, you should contact the supervisor
who will speak with the social worker.
Where is information on
upcoming training opportunities located?
Bulletin boards are located in every program area as well as the main
office. It may be helpful to notify your supervisor in writing of any
specific training interest.
